António Aragão, Intellectual Property consultant at RCF PI, was one of the invited judges at the 6th edition of the Health Cup by UBI Medical.

UBImedical is a center of excellence for bridging the gap between the University and the business world. Created to streamline the transfer of knowledge in the pursuit of new technologies, it allows companies to develop the research and laboratory tests necessary for the effective commercialization of new products, generating added value for the economy.

In this edition, ByonLink and MediHive were awarded.

ByonLink is dedicated to developing system-on-chip solutions to be incorporated into next-generation neuromuscular robotic prostheses. By developing optimized and specific microcontrollers and solutions, it will be possible to offer prostheses that closely mimic the functionality and naturalness of a human limb. The ultimate goal is, therefore, a significant improvement in the quality of life for amputees, who already number around 50 million globally.

MediHive is dedicated to developing an innovative medical device designed to promote therapeutic adherence, addressing the needs of numerous patients who need to self-administer daily medications. This is a reusable 3D system with prolonged and controlled release. It is adapted for liquid or semi-solid drugs.
